Vague is a found art and objects shop based in New York City, established in 2026 by Mazlyn Ortiz. Bridging historical artifacts and contemporary art, the curation is guided by feeling rather than a specific era or style. At its core is an obsession with distortion and recontextualization: the ways objects are reshaped by time, and how their meaning shifts when discovered, repaired, or placed somewhere new. Vague hopes to encourage a more intuitive way of collecting — inviting its audience to live with art that is personal, imperfect, and entirely their own.

Vague welcomes visitors by appointment at its showroom in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Shop pieces from the online collection alongside unseen works, with new arrivals added weekly. Book an appointment here.
All sales are final. Vague does not offer returns, refunds, or exchanges. Pieces are sold as found, as described, and as pictured, reflecting their age, provenance, and history. We make every effort to describe our products accurately and to show their colors and condition as faithfully as possible, but we cannot guarantee that descriptions or other site content are accurate, complete, or current. Signs of wear are inherent to vintage and pre-owned items and should be expected.
Before purchasing, we encourage you to request additional photographs, measurements, or a detailed condition report. Due to the nature of these pieces, Vague cannot guarantee the future durability or longevity of any item.
Most items are available to rent at 20% per day. Depending on the item you’re after and your circumstances, we can be flexible. For more info, email sos@vaguemoments.com and include the items you’re interested in renting, plus any coordinating details.
If something gets lost, altered, or damaged while it’s with you, you’ll be charged its full retail value. Pickup and return happen at our Brooklyn showroom unless we agree on something else. Once you collect your items, they’re your responsibility until you return them safely to us. Vague doesn’t make any promises about intellectual property or licensing rights. If you’re using anything for commercial or public purposes, it’s up to you to make sure you’ve got the necessary permissions or clearances.
All sales are final. Items are non-returnable and non-refundable. Everything we sell is one-of-a-kind and previously owned, so pieces are sold as-is and may show signs of age, wear, or patina. Before purchasing, we’re happy to answer questions and provide additional photographs, measurements, or detailed condition reports upon request.
We are unable to accept responsibility for damage that occurs in transit, but we recommend insuring your shipment. Third-party freight arrangements for larger pieces are final once booked.
As a new business, we’re currently working to establish our shipping process and appreciate your patience in the meantime. We offer self-collection from our Brooklyn showroom by appointment, as well as local delivery within New York City, starting at $25. Please contact us at sos@vaguemoments.com before purchasing any item that requires shipping or local delivery so we can provide a custom quote and ensure all costs are clear upfront.
Due to the size and/or delicate nature of certain objects, some items may require a third-party carrier. Once an order has been dispatched, responsibility for the shipment transfers to the buyer.
